In today’s age, the green initiative is one of the most important discussions that the world can have. With climate change, water level rising, and ongoing pollution, it is imperative to teach future generations about sustainability to preserve our planet. Green Saga is a project made to be able to teach all sorts of people about sustainability and green practices through different means. One of these means is storytelling.
Green Saga has developed and written a total of 15 adventure books following the process of “Choose Your Own Story” where you decide which actions should be made at key points of the story to see which type of ending you will get while also informing you about different climate consequences, how they started and how we can provide solutions to it or, at the very least, hinder the progress of the negative consequences.
Although storytelling is not a universal solution to climate change, it is a great way to allow your friends and family to understand the challenges we have to face as a species and make them think of their way of living with even simple solutions that can make a difference if we were to all do it, like repairing clothes and electronic devices instead of buying new ones.
Of course, 15 adventure books do not cover nearly enough topics that make up the entirety of climate change, sustainability and green practices. This is why Green Saga is also writing a Toolbox of Resources alongside Tutorial Videos and a User Guide so that you can understand how to write your own compelling story to spread awareness on the climate topic of your choice. Whether you are a teacher, a student, someone with experience in writing or none, these tools are there to help you take the first step towards a better future through writing.
Through 15 pedagogical sequences, 7 tutorials and a multiple pathway user guide, the writing of a compelling green initiative story will be broken down for you and the learners to create step by step each character, find the questions you want the reader to answer upon reading your story and find a way to make your story engaged in sustainability with solutions to help the planet in order for it to thrive.
With Green Saga’s resources and books, you will be able to start making green storytelling with mulitple means (pdf books, printed, Genially’s interactive stories) and teach as well as learning sustainability to protect the planet through your own means.
